After carefully observing the most recurring customer problems, Mikron Tool has developed three new premium tools to push the boundaries of machining once again.
The CrazyMill Cool CF (ChatterFree) is a solid carbide end mill developed to eliminate chatter. The extraordinary surface finish (equal to or better than Ra 0.5 μm) allows in many cases to reduce the number of tools required in the application and therefore delivery times and processing costs.
The CrazyMill Cool SF (Superfinish): a solid carbide end mill for super finishing operations that offers such a surface quality (with roughness equal to or better than Ra 0.3 μm) as to reduce post-machining operations such as grinding and polishing, with significant cost and time savings.
Finally, the CrazyDrill Titanium TK / TN: a micro drill specifically developed for pure and alloyed titanium for holes with diameters between 0.2 and 2.0 mm. It sets a new benchmark in terms of hole precision and quality, productivity, and tool life.
CrazyMill Cool CF, Mikron Tool’s latest generation of end mills, generates minimal lateral milling pressure and operates with total absence of vibrations. The result is an extraordinary surface finish (Ra 0.5 µm or better).
This is possible thanks to an innovative flute geometry with irregular cutting-edge division and a variable helix angle, which enables highly dynamic milling processes. This also allows the machining of pockets and grooves in a highly efficient, precise and extremely gentle way. This applies to all materials, including difficult ones such as stainless steel, titanium and its alloys, superalloys, etc. The end mill proves particularly effective with thin-walled and delicate workpieces that tend to vibrate or when clamping is unstable.
CrazyMill Cool CF is available in two versions: with four teeth (up to Ø 2.5 mm) and five teeth (from Ø 3 mm) in diameters from 1.0 – 8.0 mm (.039“ – .315“, inch fractions available) and with two different cutting lengths of 3 x d and 4 x d.

Titanium is a difficult material to machine; its high toughness and strength and low thermal conductivity are just some of the reasons for its capricious behavior during machining.
With CrazyDrill Titanium TN / TK, Mikron Tool introduces a brand new, perfectly balanced micro-drill for machining pure titanium and titanium alloys, which can be used reliably with both low-pressure internal coolant supply and external cooling. This product is available in diameters from 0.2 to 2 mm (.008“ to .078“, inch fractions available), for drilling depths of 3 x d and 6 x d and in two versions: CrazyDrill Titanium TK with integrated shank lubrication (min. 15 bar or 220 psi) and CrazyDrill Titanium TN for external lubrication machining.
