Efficient and safe workpiece clamping with our vacuum clamping systems

The precise and secure clamping of workpieces is a key challenge in precision manufacturing and mechanical engineering. The vacuum clamping system has established itself as a popular method, particularly in CNC machining, where vacuum clamping is usually the only option for thin walled, often non-magnetic components.

Loss of vacuum when changing pallets

The main problem with conventional vacuum clamping systems is the brief interruption of the vacuum, which is unavoidable when pallets are changed in the machine. As soon as the air supply is stopped, the vacuum is released and the workpiece remains unclamped. Our vacuum box promises a solution!

Exciting new product: Vacuum Box

 

We have developed an innovative solution to overcome this problem: a compact, battery-powered vacuum pump that is mounted directly on our clamping systems.
The rechargeable battery provides enough power to compensate for the natural loss of vacuum. As a result, the vacuum remains stable and the workpiece is held reliably, even during pallet changes. This improves the overall efficiency of production processes. The machining of vacuum-clamped components in unmanned production becomes possible.

To prevent the rechargeable battery from getting a shower in the machine, we have packed everything in a sealed box.

An additional safety mechanism

In addition to the battery-operated pump, an equalizing reservoir has been integrated. This reservoir offers additional safety. By acting as a buffer for the negative pressure, the evacuation interval can be extended, which has a positive effect on the operating time of a battery capacity.

Monitoring and control of the system

The entire system is controlled and monitored by an integrated control unit. This unit monitors the pressure in real time and ensures that the negative pressure remains constant. If a pressure drop is detected, the control unit automatically activates the pump to compensate for the loss. This provides additional safety for the machine operators and ensures that the process runs smoothly.

By maintaining the vacuum for several hours, a worklist can be created in the pallet pool. Vacuum-clamped components can thus also be machined in the unmanned shift.

The constantly maintained holding force prevents the workpieces from slipping, which leads to increased precision and lower reject rates.

Less downtime:
Because the vacuum is kept constant, even during interruptions, there is less unexpected downtime or rework.

The introduction of a battery-powered vacuum pump provides a reliable and efficient solution to one of the biggest problems of vacuum clamping systems and helps to increase efficiency, safety and flexibility in production.
